Who this course is for:
Anyone interested in learning pickleball or taking their game to the next level! The course is designed for students of all ages and skill levels and takes you through a progression of lessons from beginner to advanced.
What you will learn:
Students will learn the fundamentals of the sport of pickleball including rules, scoring, basic skills as well as intermediate and advanced techniques.
Requirements:
There are no prerequisites to learning pickleball other than a good attitude and a willingness to learn a fun new sport!
In order to play pickleball and apply the lessons learned, students will need basic pickleball equipment including a paddle and ball.
Course Description
Welcome to Pickleball Academy where you will learn the fundamentals of the great sport of pickleball!
Pickleball master Josh Keithly will lead you through the course! Josh is a 5.0 rated Pickleball player and certified coach. He plays in the top tournaments around the nation in APP and PPA events.
We designed this course because we have a passion for the game of pickleball and want to help players level-up their game. By the end of the course, you will have a firm grasp of the rules and scoring system, you will know how to hit pickleball shots used by players of all levels, and you’ll master game-play strategies to help you win more matches!
The course is broken into four main sections.
- The basics section will cover all the fundamentals of the court, scoring system, serving sequence, and rules of the sport.
- In the beginner section you will learn the proper techniques for hitting serves, groundstrokes, volleys and dinks.
- In the intermediate section you’ll learn about the critical “third shot” in pickleball and your best options for hitting a shot that sets you up for success. You will also learn proper positioning as a receiving team and how to handle various game play situations.
- The advanced section will take you through how to improve on techniques learned earlier in the course as well as new tactics you can use in game play as you take your game to the next level.
The ideal student for this course is a new, beginner or intermediate level player who wants to improve their pickleball game by gaining knowledge and confidence that they will obtain throughout the course.

Meet Your Instructor Coach Josh
Josh Keithly is 5.0 Pickleball player and certified coach. He plays in the top tournaments around the nation in APPand PPA events. As a former professional baseball player, he views and teaches the game a little differently than the common coaching backgrounds of tennis or racquetball. He is passionate about teaching the sport but also developing players to get them to the next level.
